The Durham SWCD Environmental Education Learning Library’s purpose is to provide the best environmental education materials to adults (teachers, naturalists, interpreters, children’s librarians, scout leaders, camp counselors, recreation leaders, daycare personnel, curriculum specialists, etc.) who work with children and aspire to share the joy of nature and the environment with them.
Through a generous donation from Target in the amount of $1,500 we have been able to purchase Environmental Education books for ages 2-9 years old. The library contains fiction and non-fiction books, videos & magazines about the environment and natural resources.
All Learning Library materials are available FREE-of charge for a 2 week loan period to qualified participants. To borrow from the library you must first fill out an application (this only has to be filled out the first time you check out books or if any of your information changes.) After the application is filled out and approved, all you will need to do is fill out a request sheet and email it to Lisa at lmarochak@co.durham.nc.us, fax it to 919-560-0563 or call 919-560-0558.
