Cost Share Conservation Program - [PDF]

The Durham Soil & Water Conservation District, in partnership with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), offers a wide verity of conservation programs designed to help farmers, landowners, and the environment. One of the most widely recognized and used State program is the Agricultural Cost-Share Program.

AGRICULTURE COST-SHARE PROGRAM (ACSP)
Due to the identification of Nonpoint Source Pollution (NPS) as a pollution source of freshwater rivers and streams in NC, the ACSP was initiated in the early 80's to encourage voluntary participation on the part of the agriculture community. Through financial incentives, technical assistance technical and educational assistance, research, and regulatory programs the agricultural community is able to put Best Management Practices (BMPs) on the ground that make positive impacts on soil erosion and water quality.

Approved ACSP practices can be found at the NC Division of Soil and Water Conservation website http://www.enr.state.nc.us/DSWC/ or by contacting the Durham Soil & Water Conservation District at 560-0558.
