| The Canine Unit consists of six specially trained dogs, canines with each canine assigned to a specific handler. A canine is assigned to each of the four patrol squads, one is assigned to the SAC/NARC Unit and one to the Bomb Squad. All of the dogs are trained in-house by one of our deputies who is a certified trainer. This squad consists of the following six canines:
K-9 Leslie is assigned to the Bomb Squad. Leslie is a Belgian Malinois born in 1995. She has been with this office since 1997. Leslie is trained in explosive detection, tracking, cadaver (land and water) and article evidence recovery.
K-9 Marco is assigned to the SAC/NARC unit. Marco is a Belgian Malinois, born in 1997 and with this office since January 1999. Marcos is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article evidence recovery and live body detection.
K-9 Sassy is assigned to a Patrol Squad. Sassy is a German Shepherd, born in 1997 and with this office since June 1999. Sassy is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article evidence recovery and live body detection.
K-9 Lasso is assigned to a Patrol Squad. Lasso is a German Shepherd, born in 1998 and with this office since January 2000. Lasso is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article evidence recovery and live body detection.
K-9 Zack is assigned to a Patrol Squad. Zack is a German Shepherd, born in 1999 and with this office since June 2000. Zack is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article evidence recovery and live body detection.
K-9 Lindsey is assigned to a Patrol Squad. Lindsey is a Belgian Malinois, born in 1999 and with this office since June 2000. Lindsey is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article evidence recovery and live body detection. |
