The Child Support Enforcement unit, established in 1997, has the responsibility for serving criminal summons and warrants for arrest in child support cases for the Department of Social Services. At the present time, one Deputy is assigned to this unit. This deputy assists the Department of Social Services in locating parents who are behind in their child support obligations.
From July 1999 to June 2000, $758,304 was collected in back child support, 326 Child Support OFA's (Orders for Arrest) were served, with 2114 attempts being made.
