Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program (D.A.R.E.)

The D.A.R.E. program is a seventeen-lesson course that primarily targets fifth grade students. The curriculum, taught by a law enforcement officer provides factual information about drugs and teaches refusal skills through role playing and other techniques.  The Durham County Sheriff?s Office unit teaches 1,700 fifth graders and reaches between 4,000 to 6,000 young people grade K-4 in Durham County.
