Durham County Health Department
Dental Division

The Dental Division's clinic in the Health Department treats children ages 3 through 20 years of age who are Durham County residents. Fees are determined with a sliding scale based on income and family size for children who do not have Medicaid or Health Choice. Treatment is by appointment.

The Dental Division provides community outreach services to increase knowledge regarding good oral health and stimulate interest in attaining excellence in oral hygiene. These services include:
  • Oral health presentations
  • Annual dental screenings for children in all K & 5th grade classes and those in Headstart
  • Private schools screened on an "on call" basis.
  • Participates in health fairs, and conducts Oral Health presentations as time permits.
