The mission of Durham County EMS is to enhance the health and welfare of the citizens of Durham County by providing a comprehensive, coordinated pre-hospital healthcare delivery system that is efficient, effective, and affordable. In emergency situations, this system should be able to deliver its product within 8 minutes or less. As a part of this mission, EMS is dedicated to provide a comprehensive public education and injury prevention program that will serve to educate the community in injury prevention, the proper use of the system, and to further enhance care and reduce system abuse. br>

EMS Code of Ethics : As with any medical profession EMS also has a professional Code of Ethics. The EMS Code of Ethics was established by Dr. Charles Gillespie in 1978. The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians adopted the EMT Code of Ethics in 1978. - View Code of Ethics |
