Ms. Carol Anderson has been a Democratic member of the Board since July, 2000.

Carol was born in New York and attended State University of New York at New Paltz.

Carol Anderson is a successful business owner and entrepreneur. Her store, Vaguely Reminiscent, opened in 1982, and is an iconic landmark in the Ninth Street Shopping district.

She has always been active in politics and her community. Carol has served on the coordinating committee of the Durham People’s Alliance, as 1st vice chair of the Durham Democratic Party, and in 1988 was a Jessie Jackson delegate to the Democratic National Convention. She also served on the Durham Community Land Trustee Board and worked on the 2000 Federal Census.

Mr. Terrance McCabe has been a Republican member of the Board since July, 2000.

Terry was born in Lansing Michigan. He graduated from Florida State University and attended the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Terry McCabe is a retired executive of the Burroughs Wellcome (now Glasko Smith Kline) pharmaceutical company. He started and continues in his second career as a real estate agent. He and his partners have opened and operate several pubs and night clubs in the triangle area.

Terry has served on multiple boards and commissions, serving for many years as a key member of the Durham County Mental Health Board and the City of Durham Human Relations Commission. He has worked extensively with his daughter, Shannon, on gang awareness and anti-gang initiatives in Durham.

 Mr. Eddie Davis is appointed as a Democratic member of the Board, effective July 21, 2009.

Eddie was born in Elizabeth City, NC. He graduated from P.W. Moore High School in 1967 and Elizabeth City State University in 1971. He taught one year at Andrew Jackson Elementary School in Halifax, NC. He then taught English for eight years at Weldon High School in Halifax County. Starting in 1980, he taught English for 21 years at Hillside High School in Durham, NC.

In 1993, he was appointed by Gov. Jim Hunt to an eight-year term on the State Board of Education. On that Board, he focused on school accountability, closing the minority achievement gap, and student discipline.

In addition to Education, Mr. Davis has been involved in a wide range of community, cultural, and civic activities.
