Mission Statement The mission statement of Durham's Alliance for Child Care Access is to assist children and their families with information and access to high quality child care services in Durham County through the collaboration and shared resources of Durham County Department of Social Services, Child Care Services Association, Operation Breakthrough, and Durham's Partnership for Children.
How to Apply for Child Care Services You must call 560-8300 and make an appointment. You will need to provide the following items:
If Employed:

Verification of work schedule and parent and stepparent's income. (Example ? 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday) on letterhead of company or agency wage form.) |

Verification of rate of pay. |

Verification of child support, Social Security, Veterans Benefits, etc. NOTE: Verification of any income in the household other than SSI and WFFA |
If In School:
 |
Copy of school schedule showing enrolled and paid. |

Any income verification: wages, child support, Social Security, Veterans Benefits, etc. |
If a Teen Parent:
 |
Verification of school enrollment, high school, GED, or high school equivalent |

Verification of any income such as wages, child support, Social Security, Veterans Benefits, etc.. |

Verification of grades and attendance will be required and must be satisfactory in order for Day Care Services to continue. |
To expedite the Application process, you may download the Screening Sheet, complete it, and bring it to your scheduled appointment. Please note, determination for Child Care assistance is made after a social worker has evaluated your application and you have provided the required verifications.

Providers If you are a licensed center or State registered home and you have parents who may be eligible to participate in the subsidized child care program, those parents may request your services by informing their day care social worker at the time of application.
Checks to Providers Checks are issued on the 20th of each month to 500 day care providers. If you have not received your check within 10 County business days please contact the Accounting Office at (919) 560-8035.
Attendance Sheets Attendance sheets are given out to new providers at the time of enrollment. Attendance sheets are mailed out on the 25th of the month to current day care providers. Please call the Business Office at (919) 560-8300 if you do not receive your preprinted attendance sheet.
Drop off Attendance Sheets at 300 N Duke St by 12:00 PM on the 25th oft he month. If the 25th falls on the weekend, turn in Attendance Sheet the last business day before the 25th.
